Thirteen-year-old Frislin Destine stalks a skinny rooster through the hopeless and desolate  streets of Port au Paix, Haiti. As the oldest son he feels responsible to provide for his family of six, and the chicken would be a feast. His mission is thwarted by his nemesis and local bully, Stefan. Frislin feels incapable of emulating the Godly faith of his disabled father and searches for ways to help his family.
